Tory Lanez Arrested, Later Released for Violation of Court Orders

In the Megan Thee Stallion case, Tory Lanez was arrested and released on bond after making social media posts.

Tory Lanez was detained on Tuesday for allegedly publishing a discovery on social media in violation of court orders during a court hearing.

Tory Lanez was arrested in a Los Angeles courthouse on suspicion of breaking the provisions of a pretrial protective order.

Lanez, 29, was brought into jail before getting freed on bond during a court hearing on Tuesday over charges that he shot rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot after a party in 2020.

According to Rolling Stone, Lanez’s bail was raised from $250,000 to $350,000 at the hearing by judge David Herriford. The rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found to have broken court orders preventing him from contacting Megan, 27, or disclosing any evidence in the case with third parties, according to the judge.

Lanez reportedly disobeyed the court order by directly approaching Megan on social networking sites and revealing DNA evidence through a third-party Twitter account.

According to a since-deleted tweet, a YouTube star known as DJ Akademiks claimed that “Tory Lanez DNA was NOT discovered” on the weapon purportedly used to shoot Megan in the feet, in the post on Feb. 23.

The report says, Lanez’s lawyer Shawn Holley claimed that Lanez did not supply Akademiks with information before the February tweet. “The DNA on the weapon, according to (DJ Akademiks), was not discovered. In reality, the gun’s swab indicates ‘inconclusive,’ implying that four people were involved “In court, Holley allegedly stated.

Lanez was charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unlicensed firearm in a vehicle in October 2020. In November 2020, he entered a not guilty plea to both allegations.

According to multiple sites, including Rolling Stone and TMZ, LAPD Det. Ryan Stogner testified in December 2021 that Lanez yelled “Dance, bitch!” before shooting Megan in the foot.

According to Rolling Stone, Stogner testified at the time, “[Megan] witnessed Mr. Peterson carrying a pistol, and when she saw him begin to shoot.” “Megan felt pain in her feet right away, saw blood, collapsed to the ground, and crawled to a nearby driveway… Her injuries, she said, were causing a lot of bleeding.”

According to Megan’s testimony, Lanez issued an apology and “gave her money and begging her not to say anything.” Lanez “made a point about the fact that he was already on probation,” Megan added to the detective.

Megan spoke up about the incident on Instagram two days after Lanez’s arrest, alleging she “suffered bullet wounds as a consequence of a crime that was perpetrated against me and done with the intention to physically injure me.”

The next court hearing is scheduled for September.
